Type: Part-Time, 4-Month Contract (Sept 2025 to Jan 2026) with option to renew

Hours: 30 hours per month // Contract Total: 120 Hours
Rate of Pay: $30/hr

About EDAM: EDAM (Experimental Dance and Music, formed 1982) is a contemporary dance Company and Studio committed to the rigorous research, training, presentation, and celebration of Contact Improvisation and dance improvisation as an art form. Each season the Company produces its celebrated Choreographic Series at its Studio-Theatre, premiering new work by local guest choreographers. EDAM is led by Artistic Director, Peter Bingham, and Associate Artistic Director, Olivia Shaffer.
EDAM's mandate is to provide a stable and fertile environment for the development of contemporary dance.
Position Overview: The Administrative & Communication Coordinator reports to the General Manager and is responsible for the company’s day-to-day communications. The ACC oversees EDAM’s social media and digital communications and coordinates memberships, registrations, and tickets.
Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
1-2 years of social media / digital content creation and marketing experience.
Strong copywriting skills and editing experience.
Previous experience working creatively with attention to detail, aesthetics, and design.
Working-knowledge of GoogleWorkplace, Instagram, and Facebook.
Familiarity with Canva, Later, Zeffy, Squarespace, and/or Mailchimp is an asset.
Experience with customer service or public-facing engagement.
Experience with program planning, event management, and/or volunteer management is an asset.

Responsibilities:
Works collaboratively with the GM and AAD to identify and implement best practices for marketing and communications strategies that connect with EDAM’s values and community members.
Designs and creates original digital content for EDAM’s social media platforms.
Publishes and manages EDAM’s social media, and generates meaningful engagement to build brand awareness and encourage both current and new members to engage in EDAM’s programming.
Understands social media trends, and works to create high-performing content.
Monitors social media analytics and identifies areas for future growth and improvement.
Responds to community requests for cross-promotion.
Communicates with EDAM’s teachers and ensemble members to gather programming information.
Sets-up and manages online registration and tickets for EDAM’s programming.
Responds to email inquiries regarding EDAM’s programming.
Updates and maintains EDAM’s membership database.
Updates EDAM’s website.
Designs digital content for EDAM’s e-newsletters.
Prepares social media and programming statistics for reports.
Supports the GM with the creation of participant and audience surveys.
Supports the GM and AAD with additional administrative tasks for EDAM’s Choreographic Series production (November 2025).
Supports the GM and AAD with grant writing editing.
Provides critical and constructive feedback to the GM and AAD about EDAM’s programming and offers suggestions for improvements to systems and workflows.
Terms:
Must be available to work in-person 1 day per week at the EDAM office – 303 E 8th Ave Vancouver BC V5T 1S1.
Must have their/his/her own laptop.
Workload fluctuates based on slower and busier times of the year. Across the 4-months there may be some weeks where the ACC works slightly less than the average weekly hours, and some weeks where the ACC works slightly more than the average weekly hours.
Willingness and availability to work occasional in-person evenings and weekends to support productions and/or special programming.
The AAC is welcome to attend all EDAM drop-in classes free of charge and may participate in EDAM’s special offerings and workshops at a 50% discounted rate.
